The Lorong Sesuai location was chosen by the Japanese as a memorial for the fallen soldiers during World War II in Singapore. To stop the returning Allies from defiling the shrine after the war, the Japanese had it destroyed. Two pillars and 120 concrete steps up to a transmission tower are all that are left within Bukit Batok Nature Park.

Visit the quarry

Last but not least, visit the well-known quarry pool of Bukit Batok Nature Park and take in the beautiful scenery that surrounds the entire area. The peaceful quarry pond and cliff face of the ancient granite quarry are just beyond the playground. It is situated in the center of the Quarry, which was once a mining site. You would not want to leave the area around the pool because it is so peaceful. Visitors can stand at a plaza and take in the quarry scenery. You can see the transmission tower and the face of the quarry from the plaza.
