Near the Punggol MRT/LRT station in Punggol New Town, Singapore, sits a suburban shopping center called Waterway Point. Waterway Point Singapore was constructed as a part of Watertown, the first waterfront residential and retail complex in Punggol. Waterway Point, part of the S$1.6 billion new Watertown development, was jointly created by Far East Organization and Sekisui House on a vacant parcel of land next to a river and an MRT station. With a tenant mix of approximately 30% F&B, 43% retail, 15% entertainment, and 12% others, Waterway Point has a total of 542,493 square feet of gross floor area. Waterway Point also has 370,824 square feet of retail space distributed over 4 levels, including 2 basements.

Waterway Point is the first mall in Singapore to incorporate a town square and a visitors’ center, giving locals and the general public a way to learn more about Punggol’s history through exhibitions and civic and community events. On January 18, 2016, the mall had a soft launch; on April 19, 2016, it was formally inaugurated.

The nearby suburban dwellers in Punggol Central may find a variety of restaurants, fashion, entertainment, and facilities at Waterway Point, which is situated next to the Punggol Waterway.

Punggol Central Waterway Point mall contains a number of schools, libraries, and children’s play areas, including a dry and wet playground on the second floor. Additionally, Waterway Point offers banks, salons, a 24-hour supermarket, and businesses for telecommunications. Waterway Point also has Singapore’s first and biggest suburban basement theater. To make room for Donki Donki, Toys R Us at Waterway Point is relocated in 2022 from Basement 1 to level 2. The mall has themed indoor and outdoor spaces for exhibitions, community events, and leisure activities too.

Punggol Central Waterway Point mall is divided into an East Wing and a West Wing, which are connected by a 24-hour boardwalk called The Boardwalk that connects Punggol Waterway Park with the mall and Punggol MRT/LRT Station. This plan differs from many standard mall layouts. Direct access to the Punggol MRT and LRT stations as well as a temporary bus interchange is available at Waterway Point. Additionally, it is connected to the rest of Singapore by major expressways including the Tampines Expressway (TPE) and Seletar Expressway (SLE).
